CIE LT Forge's digital maturity nearly doubles the Lithuanian average

According to data from the European Digital Innovation Hub project, CIE LT Forge was recognized as a "fairly advanced" European Union company in terms of digital maturity in 2024. Its digital maturity score of 62% exceeded both the Lithuanian (34%) and EU (44%) averages for metal processing and industrial manufacturing companies.
Aurelijus Šeštokas, Head of Continuous Improvement and Safety at CIE LT Forge, states that three key factors contributed to the company's progress in digital maturity last year: artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and data digitalization.
"We indeed witnessed many progressive changes in 2024. We installed sensors in the technological manufacturing process that collect quantitative and qualitative data. We also installed screens at workstations that allow employees to monitor, input, analyze, and present data in real-time, and paper-based processes have practically disappeared," Šeštokas shares the positive developments.
According to Šeštokas, CIE LT Forge‘s successful performance in the digital maturity rating was also influenced by AI solutions. In 2024, the company implemented AI-based video recognition systems that assist in checking specific parameters of certain products.
The European Digital Innovation Hub, while assessing companies' digital maturity, also considered automation indicators. Although robotic lines have been operating at the CIE LT Forge plant for over a decade, significant changes were made here as well.
"In 2024, two more forging lines were robotized," Šeštokas emphasizes.
He adds that in the coming years CIE LT Forge will continue to maintain its high digital maturity rating, confirming the company's progress and growth alongside modern technologies.
"Digitalization enables us to improve and work more efficiently, thus increasing our competitiveness. Therefore, we will continue moving in the direction of smart industry," assures the Head of Continuous Improvement and Safety at CIE LT Forge.
CIE LT Forge‘s digital maturity was evaluated through a specialized questionnaire as part of the European Digital Innovation Hub project.
